Bircher Breakfast
Ingredients
4 teaspoons almonds
2 teaspoons sunflower seeds
1 tbs flaxseeds (optional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 portion of fruit (e.g. 1 apple, 1 pear, 80-100g chopped papaya, mango, rockmelon or other fruit)
1 tbs natural yoghurt
1 tsp natural vanilla essence (optional)

Method
The night before: soak the almonds and seeds in water.
The night before: soak the almonds and seeds in water.
Next morning, discard the soaking water, combine with your fruit portion and cinnamon, then blitz in a high speed blender until finely chopped.
Top with yoghurt and some additional fruit.
Notes:
This breakfast can be blended in the morning and taken to work.
You can soak, dry and crush the nuts in advance and keep on hand for a quick breakfast mixed with chopped or grated fruit.
You can add 1-2 dried prunes when adding the fruit portion. (Prunes are great for sluggish bowels)
Nuts and seeds contain fibres which may promote more frequent, softer and easier to pass bowel motions.
