A Prescription Review Appointment is a short telehealth consultation designed to ensure the safe and effective continuation of any prescription-only or practitioner-only supplements provided through Perpetual Wellbeing.
Prescription Review Appointment
If it has been more than 4 months since your last consultation with a practitioner, a prescription review is required before we can authorise a refill. This appointment helps us ensure that your current supplements remain appropriate, safe, and aligned with your ongoing health needs.
Why a Prescription Review Is Necessary
Your health can change over time—sometimes in ways that directly affect how prescription-grade supplements work. Even small changes may impact:
- Supplement dosage requirements
- Interactions with new medications
- New symptoms or diagnoses
- Hormonal, metabolic or lifestyle changes
- Safety and suitability of your current prescription
Functional and practitioner-grade supplements can have therapeutic effects, which means your practitioner must confirm that they remain clinically appropriate.
What the Appointment Involves
A Prescription Review is a brief telehealth appointment (usually 10–15 minutes) and includes:
1. Health Status Check-In
Your practitioner will ask about:
- Any new symptoms
- Recent diagnoses or health changes
- Current medications
- Recent medical or pathology results
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or hormonal changes
- Changes in lifestyle, stress, or diet
2. Review of Your Current Prescription
We assess:
- Whether your supplements are still effective
- Whether any adjustments are needed
- Any potential interactions or contraindications
- Whether alternative options would better support your current goals
3. Renewal or Adjustment of Your Supplement Prescription
Once reviewed, your practitioner will:
- Renew the prescription if suitable
- Adjust dosages where needed
- Recommend alternatives if your health status has changed
- Provide guidance on how long refills are valid
Who Needs a Prescription Review?
You will require a prescription review if:
- It has been over 4 months since your last practitioner consultation
- You wish to reorder prescription-only or practitioner-only supplements
- Have there been any changes to your health, medication or symptoms
