In the consultation process, Sophia will draw on relevant pathology testing, a thorough case-taking approach, an in-depth health history as well as relevant clinical examination techniques in order to glean insight and a clear picture of the client’s current state of health. With over a decade of clinical experience, Sophia is able to draw on a myriad of evidence-informed treatment options included nutritional supplementation, herbal medicines, as well as prescriptive dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

Within each consultation, Sophia supports her clients in not only rediscovering their physical health but also fostering emotional and mental wellbeing. As these aspects are so intertwined Sophia believes it to be imperative that the physical, mental and emotional health of the individual are taken into consideration when supporting the client’s journey from imbalance or ‘dis-ease’ returning to our natural state of health and vitality. Sophia has discovered, through her own health journey, that being well is not merely the absence of disease but, in fact, the joy of thriving and feeling a deep sense of peace and wellbeing in day-to-day life.

Alongside Sophia’s clinical practice, Sophia is a university lecturer within the Bachelor of Health Science working extensively in clinical supervision of both clinical nutrition and herbal medicine students. Sophia’s post-graduate studies in Academic Practice have led her to write curriculum in key areas such as stress and adrenal health, infant and child nutrition, fertility and sports medicine.

Through her exploration of mind-body medicine, Sophia has come to study the science of yoga and meditation from a biomedical standpoint. Sophia’s teacher training in the ancient philosophies of Yoga and Meditation as well as Pilates has provided a strong grounding in integrative lifestyle medicine that she is able to share with her clients.

Being a mother to four children has provided Sophia with a lived experience that has gifted her the ability of creativity and innovation for providing practical, doable recommendations and treatment plans that take into account the realities and practicalities of her clients’ lives and the ‘humanness’ of all of our journeys.

Sophia is a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA), and she maintains continuing professional development by attending regular seminars and conferences throughout each year.

Sophia is registered with most Australian private health funds. She is available for appointments at our Graceville clinic on a Monday, Friday and monthly Saturdays.
