IgA Food Allergy Testing

Food sensitivities can contribute to a range of symptoms, including digestive discomfort, asthma, eczema and migraines. An IgA food allergy test may help identify foods associated with gastrointestinal and mucous membrane reactions, providing useful insights to support a personalised treatment plan.

What Is IgA Allergy Testing Used For?

Food reactions are not always immediate or obvious.

While some food allergies cause rapid symptoms soon after eating, other immune reactions may be more difficult to identify. Symptoms can appear gradually, overlap with other health concerns or be triggered by foods that are eaten regularly.

IgA food allergy testing, also referred to as IgA food intolerance or IgA food sensitivity testing, can help identify foods that may be contributing to gastrointestinal, mucosal or inflammatory symptoms. Individuals with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, or even those with suspected leaky gut may benefit from an IgA blood test for food reactions. This can be particularly useful when symptoms are ongoing, complex or difficult to link to a single food.

At Perpetual Wellbeing, we use IgA food reaction testing as part of a broader naturopathic assessment. Your results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, diet, medical history and digestive health, so your practitioner can develop a clear, practical plan to support better long-term wellbeing.
