Testing

In Naturopathy and Nutritional medicine both general pathology and functional pathology are used. Functional pathology testing is useful in assessing the state of organ functioning, biochemical functioning and assessment, nutritional deficiencies or imbalances, metabolic and hormonal status.

The results provide essential information to assist the practitioner in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients seeking a natural approach to health.

Functional Pathology testing provides a tool for early intervention, management and monitoring of ongoing treatment efficacy.

Some examples of functional pathology testing

General pathology is the scientific study of any abnormality that is causing changes in the structure or function of body parts. We consider these changes and the significance of them to better manage your health.

Some examples of general pathology include:

  • Thyroid function testing, including thyroid hormones, antibodies and reverse T3
  • Iron studies
  • Inflammatory markers such as CRP or Hs-CRP, ESR
  • Liver and Kidney function tests
  • Cholesterol studies
  • Glucose and insulin
  • Vitamins and minerals
  • Coeliac profile
  • Allergy testing
  • Homocysteine
  • MTHFR

We have access to a large variety of tests and functional pathology. We have chosen to work closely with a number of laboratories around Australia and Internationally, to get the best, most accurate results for our clients at the most affordable cost.

Please note that in the initial consultation with us we will go through a full health assessment with you and we analyse your symptoms, this may lead to an immediately usable treatment. If we do recommend you get some further testing done, prices will be discussed during your Naturopathy and Nutrition consultation. Alternatively you are welcome to send us an email price enquiry if you know exactly which test you are interested in. Otherwise it would be best to book an appointment with us so that we can establish if testing is necessary, and if so, which would be the most appropriate for you.
