Testing, where appropriate, is an excellent way to gain more information about what is going on inside your body. Naturopaths use various tools to assess your health. These help us to discover why you are ill, and how we can best resolve the illness. Diagnostic tools used are iridology, tongue diagnosis, nail analysis, laboratory tests and so on. The tools used are catered to the individual and their complaint.
Testing can give us invaluable information that will allow us to improve the treatment you receive to be more specific to your needs so that you can get results more quickly. Using a range of diagnostics allows us to look at each case from a variety of angles and provides a holistic mode of health care.
Comprehensive Case History
The initial consultation usually begins with a thorough interview and history process designed to gain an understanding of your overall health status. Through this process, we hope to get closer to finding the underlying cause of your health issue(s). If we feel it is necessary to, we will do further diagnostic investigations such as the ones below.
Iridology
The iris is composed of 2,800 exposed nerve endings and provides a wealth of information about the body’s strength, weaknesses, levels of inflammation and efficiency of the eliminative organs.
Iridology is the analysis of patterns and structures in the iris of the eye which locates areas and stages of inflammation throughout the body. The iris is the portion of the eye showing colour. It reveals body constitution, inherent strengths and weaknesses, health levels, and transitions that take place in a person's body according to their way of life. The study of the iris is painless and non-invasive

Tongue Analysis
Your tongue is a window to your metabolism. It is the only internal organ you can see directly. Its colour and shape indicate the ability to digest food, eliminate toxins and fight illness.
Tongue analysis gives us an overview of the health of digestive organs. This form of diagnosis is particularly useful as tongue signs can change rapidly and are great for monitoring health from visit to visit.

Nail analysis provides a long-term look at mineral status. Ridges, bends, colours and spots all reveal various nutrient deficiencies
